#TrashTag – A Community Clean-Up Event
May 27, 2019 @ 10:45 am - 12:00 pm
Date: Monday, May 27th
Time: 10:45 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Dark Horse Staff Parking Lot (on the corner of West Pearl and South Kalamazoo Street) – Marshall Boardwalk and surrounding area
Description: Immediately following the Memorial Day Parade in downtown Marshall, young(ish) and old are encouraged to meet at the Dark Horse staff parking lot (just south of the compound) for the first community #TrashTag event. A national movement, #TrashTag encourages people to invest a little elbow grease to clean-up their neighborhoods, parks, and/or natural settings, and to take before and after pictures to share the transformation.
Plan to arrive at 10:45 AM to check-in and be given your trash picking supplies (i.e., gloves and garbage bags). Water and lite snacks will also be provided, but don’t anticipate any packaging for either (that’s trash, man!) – so please make sure to bring a reusable water bottle! At 11:00 the trash pick-up blitz will begin, targeting the Riverwalk and surrounding areas.
“We really think people will be amazed at how much ground we will be able to cover in only an hour of time, how much fun it will be, and how big of an impact we will have,” shared event co-organizer and “foreman,” Josh Servis. “This is a great way to give back to our community, and to honor those who fought and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.”
Oh, and don’t forget the kick-off to our Fridays at the Fountain concert series on the 24th (7pm). Until then, #BeYoungish, #ChooseMarshall, and if you pick up some trash, tag it!
